In addition to the above I continue to undertake workshops
and trainings for my own personal and professional development.
Personal development has led me to explore my physical world through hiking.
I have trekked Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Elbrus in Russia and Acouncagua in Argentina, as well as hiking the Fish River Canyon in Namibia. These activities taught me perseverance, patience, dedication and realising a dream, one step at a time.
I enjoy walking, swimming, yoga and quiet reflection. I am very interested in different cultures and enjoy travelling and learning about local customs and practices. I also have an interest in the Transpersonal and our connection with nature, areas I continue to learn about and explore, personally and professionally.
My Professional Experience
Before relocating to the UK, I worked as a trauma counsellor for the Victim Support services of the South African Police. I also have experience as a counsellor with The Anxiety and Depression Support Group in Johannesburg and as a patient and family support counsellor at the local Hospice.
Over the past 10 years in the UK, I have worked with many clients from a variety of different backgrounds, presenting a wide range of issues. I have also worked with refugees and asylum seekers and I am accustomed to working through interpreters.
